Body Magazine | Swimgerie Specializes in Sexy Swimwear
California attorney and businesswoman Lilly Ghalichi loved visiting beaches and attending poolside events, but was continually disappointed by lackluster swimwear options. With the increasing popularity of pool parties in big-city clubs and hotels, she decided women needed swimwear that made them look and feel good, no matter where the suits were worn.
The result is Swimgerie, a line of swimwear inspired by the shapes and silhouettes of lingerie.
"Our suits are no more or less covered than traditional swimwear," said Ghalichi. "However, the lingerie-inspired design makes them extremely provocative and sexy."
The collection’s introductory line, Femme Noir, consists of two one-piece suits as well as five tops and three bottoms which can be mixed and matched. The styles retail for $49 to $149.
The Femme Noir collection is offered in sizes XS to L. Retailers’ first orders must include at least one of each size XS and L and two of each sizes S and M for every piece in the collection they order, but there are no requirements for reorders. Each item is sold separately and most are shipped within two days from a distribution center in Los Angeles.
While the Femme Noir collection is only available in black, two new Swimgerie collections are planned for July that will feature solid colors such as coral, red and turquoise as well as prints including cherries, hearts and a peacock pattern.
According to Ghalichi, the response to Swimgerie’s launch has been extremely positive. "Every woman wants to look sexy and feel amazing in her swimsuit," she said.
